  • Visits to Rennes-le-Château, the Cité of Carcassonne, many Cathar and Templar castles and lother places little known but greatly interesting.

Rennes-le-Château - Group visit led by the co-author of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail - HENRY LINCOLN. This will be a different tour from those of 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 with a different itinerary. However, in dereference to those who have never been on one of our special tours before, we must inevitably re-visit the more important places that feature in the mystery and/or geometry. We will visit a Templar Hamlet and the extraordinary Caves of the Magdalene with their 15,000 year old rock carvings. We must re-visit the great walled-city of Carcassonne as well as the very last Cathar stronghold perched on the dizzy heights of Cordes sur Ciel (i.e., 'Cordes in the Sky'.), the Caves of L'Ombrives wherin according to local myth and Otto Rahn (author of 'Crusade Against the Grail') li sanctuaries of Apollo, the Moon goddess Astarte, and the legendary Tomb of Hercules. Perhaps the last words of the last Cathar Parfait:- "In 700 years when the laurel is green again" are, with the onset of global warming are about to manifest them selves?

Numbers must always be restricted because of the need to use a small vehicle to negotiate mountain passes, but just as much because Henry Lincoln believes that, although more money is to be made from taking larger groups as commercial and others do, it is just not possible for him to confide on a one-to-one basis with large numbers.

Autumn is the ideal time to visit Rennes-le-Château with its muted golden-browns, reds and greens and, usually, weather equivalent to a good English summer. School holidays will be finished, leaving the area at its most tranquil and beautiful. Early booking is desirable to ensure your place.

Henry Lincoln is almost the last important person in this mystery still alive. Pierre Plantard de Saint Claire, Philippe de Cherisey, Gerard de Sede and the older villagers of Rennes-le-Chateau who still treasured memories of the Abbe Sauniere have one by one passed away. Without being morbid, one never knows when the last chance to discuss it personally with him may be. All things have their season. "Gather ye rosebuds whilst ye may..."
